Strategist Versus Contractor: I went to bat for you!
There is no better feeling than when a client tells you “I went to bat for you in our shareholder meeting to discuss your 30% increase in monthly retainer.”
Some key take aways…
1. A contractor only does what is in their scope of work. A strategist gives above and beyond the scope of work.
2. Don’t be afraid to ask if you are confident with the results. I was afraid to ask for an increase especially during this COVID-19 season. I probably would have chickened out if it wasn’t for the fact that I knew I can produce results. By not asking I knew a part of me would feel unappreciated so just ask.
3. For my custom clients I have weekly or biweekly calls. Some agencies would say that is a lot of time and they would not offer the calls. So as a strategist, I saw this time to be a chance to build trust and grow the relationship with my clients.
